Welcome

Hello, world! I’m Arsh Shah, an incoming freshman at Mission San Jose High School. I’m an aspiring Mathematician (HM JMO next year?) and an avid coder. I’m currently working on Evan Chen & Yufie Zhao’s handouts, alongside USACO problems.

My journey

My journey toward creating this blog began after I was introduced to the world of olympiad math. I’d stumbled across Evan Chen’s handouts by recommendations from some friends and got, and still am, completely engrossed in them. It was a world of mathematics I, a naive AIMEr, hadn’t been exposed to. I felt pure wonder for the first time since COVID hit. My goal with this blog is to share that passion with others.

My story with computer science begins in much the same way, albeit my friends being replaced by the internet. The surge of quantum computing was at its peak and I wanted to code it. A youtube search later, Sentdex showed up. I used his Python tutorials, and after I got tired of them, I looked at his Pytorch and Tensorflow Tutorials. This led to me making a Mancala AI, followed by an MNIST GAN, and the project I’m currently working on, an Anime Face GAN.

My blog posts are going to be a mash of Pure, and more importantly, applied Math and CS. I want to use these STEM fields to create a change in the “real world”, and this blog is my guide towards joining the two.

Anyhow, Come to my blog, get cozy, grab a coffee, and stay for a while. You’re in for a ride.

ABOUT ME

My name is Arsh Shah, and I am an aspiring mathematician, blogger, and avid coder. During my sophomore year of high school, I shifted my focus from STEM to the humanities after witnessing the issue of homelessness in my community.
